The basic installation takes up 4GB of disk storage. Most drum libraries like that tend to start at USD 99 when on sale.ĮZ Drummer 2 works under Windows 7 (or later) and macOS (10.9 or later) in standalone, AAX (64-bit), AU (64-bit), and VST2 (32 / 64-bit) formats. All in all, EZD 2 is still a great and complete package. Also of note is the full-blooded mixer section with the kind of studio effects you’d expect to treat bomb-sounding drums with. You can take them into your DAW or use EZ Drummer 2’s built-in arranger to line things up. The MIDI library with readily available fills and patterns is no slouch, either. It also boasts a percussion library with tambourines, shakers, maracas, handclaps and finger snaps – you know, the exact stuff you need for your homespun doom metal project. Out of the factory, EZ Drummer 2 features 5 complete drum sets and an additional 15 kick and snare sounds to mix and match. Upon comparison, it's safe to say that Ezdrummer 2 is much more beginner-friendly and is less complicated than its successor, Superior Drummer 3.

Take in mind that you might get stuck with using MIDI piano rolls in Ezdrummer 3, making your workflow much more limited. Toontrack is regularly selling EZX expansions as well, so look around. It does give you less control, however, unlike with Superior Drummer 3. And that’s a great price for what you’re getting – very capable virtual drums that are easy to use and ripe for expansion with all kinds of drum and percussion sounds under the sun.
